The fidge trips the earth leakage?

Could a faulty capacitor cause the fridge to trip the earth leakage in the Distribution board.

You might do well to replace the motor capacitor - cheap quick and easy. Amazon will sell you one.

Use Google Images - enter Fridge Capacitor - to see what they look like...

Possibly, it it was metal cased.

Disconnect wires from the capacitor, noting which one goes where - DONT RELY ON MEMORY.

Discharge it ( just in case) but leave it in place.

Measure the impedance to earth (machine chassis) Should settle in the high M Ohms range or open circuit.

This is not a definitive check but a fail is pretty well a certain fail.
