My Hotpoint HVF 344 not rinsing properly?

Sometimes washing comes out with streaks of powder on it and there is a strong smell of the washing powder irself on the items when taken out after a full cycle. What is the solution?

Don`t overload the machine.If you are using the fast wash then it won`t take a full load.
