The digital indication of the freezer temperature moves up and down.one time it is showing -4 and an hour later it might be at -i5 and an hour later it could be at -9 and I have to keep the boost on the stop the alarm. The fridge appears to be working reasonably well. Any ideas.?

Failed temperature sensor or possibly failed PCB. Don't think its likely to be the compressor.

You should be able to search for Diplomat freezer spares easily enough.
