Is a Boss BR1 compatible with any other brand?

I have a worcester Greenstar 37cdi boiler with a BOSS Therm BPS 242RF programmable timer. The timer unit itself no longer works as the screen became dislodged. I would replace it with an identical one but I am not happy with the performance of the Boss system.
