Need to weld(solder) leak between spout and kettle base. Very caustic H20 ?

Kettle leaking at weld of spout to kettle. Calcium in H2O adheres to and may disrupt weld. Want to fix NOT replace a discontinued (I think) model.

Asda will sell you a very good kettle for £12

As for repairing your current kettle - probably best to abandon the idea as not practical.

You have very alkaline H2O - not very caustic.
Amazon sell an Arc Welder for £61 - a soldering iron would be of no use.

What is the kettle made from? Stainless steel won't solder and neither will aluminium (Well, with specialist solder)

Welding thin sheet is a sure recipe for having holes burned into the metal.

For either welding or soldering the joint will need to be clean

If its a valuable item you might try someone with a TIG welder but do consider that a new kettle would only be around a tenner -or less if you are lucky:
