We are a local not for profit organisation who were kindly donated this cash register....unfortunately I can't get this message off the screen and it won't allow me to use the register in any key positions...any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like the internal rechargeable battery has gone flat from sitting too long unplugged. It will need to be cleared and re-programmed. there is a full manual here:
