A service man told me to adjust the motor position all the way out and tighten the three nuts holding the motor then install the belt. He said that it was difficult to get the belt tightened otherwise. I was unable to get the belt on this way so I loosened the motor nuts, installed the belt and then used a long-handled wrench to hold tension on the belt while I tightened the nuts. I put as much tension on the belt as I could while tightening the nuts and after three months no belt slipping.
