Hettich solenoid chatters in wall pendulum clock?

Solenoid sounds like a wood pecker instead of slow ticking sound and weight lever never stops when it should

Good news to report. I have removed the movement from the cabinet and lubricated all internal moving parts and cleaned the contact points on the weight arm. It now works like a charm, no wood pecker noise now.

The improvement over the chattering solenoid was not lasting. The noise is much louder, metal striking metal. The positioning of the hanging pendulum was not the issue but thanks for the suggestion.

The issue is with a battery operated clock movement chattering at least 25% of the tine, not keeping good time, requiring frequent adjustments to the pendulum swing speed.

I've seen significant improvement by wriping a small price of towel paper between the movable plate on the solenoid and the thin metal strip (both sides) and removing the build up of black powered (dirt) that had accumulated there. I need more time to see if the improvement is lasting and tolerable.

Check the pendulum hasn't come off the movement. Should be easy enough to hook back on if it has
