No water coming into machine?

Just got a s/h Hoover classica which I understands was working daily before it came to me, plumbed it in makes usual sounds but no water coming into drum, it's just on cold water feed is it a hot and cold machine and therefore not wanting to work ?

If it has two inlet valves then it can be connected to hot & cold tap. It will also have some means of selecting a hot/warm or cold wash. Make sure the hose from the cold tap is connected to the cold inlet valve. It should be marked with an H or a C next to the inlet valve.
