Hotpoint wm63p no power?

Hi,

I put my washing machine on today and there was a loud pop and the washing machine caused a trip. I turned the breaker back on. Still no power. Changed the Fuse in the plug with a known good. Still no power.

I took the top off, nothing looks burnt or singed or smells electrically broken.

Any tips on where to start now? The washing machine is awkward and only appears to have a locked door light, which doens't come on. I cannot tell if any power is getting to the unit.

Cheers,
Dan

Classic fault Dan. Sounds like your door lock has shorted out and blown the timer. Change the doorlock and replace the timer from www.emwelec.co.uk

Yeah the plug works. Cheers

First step : eliminate the supply
Check there is power coming out of the plug: try plugging in a lamp, vacuum, anything.
Assuming there is power available at the plug, that suggests a problem with the machine.
