Why do people ask for help but don't bother to give details as to what make and model it is? Not all dishwashers are the same. Anyway, yes there is other reasons apart from a faulty element. Faulty thermostat, faulty cut out sensor (if it has one) faulty wiring or faulty power supply (Timer or circuit board depending on your make/model.)
