How can I fix my Sony Walkman? (MZ-NE410)?

the wiring and all that electroninc stuff is fine.
but when i try to close it, it just pops back up. i think the hook is misplaced but i dont want to break it cuz i will never close again. I dont hear any clicking. I think the hook isnt latching...any suggestions

Use a pair of needle-nose pliers. Hold the unit securely with your thumb in front of the hook. Bend the hook with the pliers until the hook looks almost straight. use the open button to make sure the hook slides smoothly. keep trying until it latches.
