Hotpoint WD440 is tripping mains RCD?

Hi,
I have Hotpoint WD440 washing machine, recently it started tripping the mains RCD.
I googled a lot and disconnected the pink wire which is connected to the heater.
I have tested the continuity of the heating element which is fine and it's not borken.
It works fine and doesn't trip mains RCD anymore, except the drying part of the washing machine.
Winter is not very far, and I would need dryer as I have kids at home.
Any help for troubleshooting and fixing the dryer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Abhi

Yeah! It worked, heater element got rusted which was the cause of short circuit.
Thanks for the help

Thanks, I will replace the heater element and see if everything works fine !

Replace the heater and try that first (even though you have continuity - it may be breaking down). If the fault persists, change the main module using www.emwelec.co.uk
