Powercraft pdd 1800 not turning?

The battery is lit up so fully charged. When pressing the power switch I can hear a high pitched sound but nothing turns. As the drill is making this noise I must assume battery and connection is ok. No troubleshooter in manual so please can you help . Thankyou
