The remote does not work. I have changed batteries but still have to manually switch on

Check the remote. Use the camera in your phone. point the remote at the phone camera and press any button. ON the phone's screen you should see the Infra Red LED flickering (It will look white) THere's probably a good few YouTube videos that will help.
