overheating boiler?

I have a Firebird Olympic oil burner. The water in the radiators becomes very hot and in my opinion, the burner is somehow bypassing the temperature control. Any advice would be welcome.

Get someone competent to look at it

Start by checking that the room stat is correctly set and fully functioning. Maybe test the wiring from the room stat to check that it is not sending a live signal to the boiler after desired room temperature has been acheived.
