macallister mis2500 garden shredder, hopper has opened to far how do I get it back into corrct position without breaking it

I had the same problem. Open it up fully to give it a good clean after first use and would not shut because of stops by each hinge.
All I did was use a flat blade screwdriver in each side to slide the stop over as I closed it. I did have the machine on its back as back as I was on my own.
