I did reply to you the first time you asked the question.
When you say series 4 2000 do you mean the 2000-2006 shape as before you said old shape? 2000 was a change over year so could be 2 different shapes.
All the information below has been taken from the Ford TIS which as I said before you can buy off eBay for only a couple of pounds and has a detailed walk through with pictures and torque settings.
1.Remove the wheel and tire.
2.Detach the stabilizer bar connecting link from the lower arm (if equipped).
3.Loosen the lower arm ball joint retaining nut.
4.CAUTION:
Protect the ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage.
Using a suitable two leg puller, detach the lower arm from the wheel knuckle.
1.Use a soft faced hammer to strike the lower arm.
2.Remove and discard the retaining nut.
3.Remove the heat shield.
5.Remove the lower arm.
Installation
1.Install the lower arm.
2.WARNING:
Install a new lower arm ball joint retaining nut. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
CAUTION:
Make sure the heat shield is installed to prevent damage to the ball joint.
Attach the lower arm to the wheel knuckle.
3.Attach the stabilizer bar connecting link to the lower arm (if equipped).
4.Install the wheel and tire.
5.Check the toe setting and adjust as necessary.
