First check if the remote control has a "TV/VCR" switch and ensure it is in the "TV" position. (Some remote's are designed to work matching products but you have to select which product you want the remote to operate.)
Otherwise, the printed circuit board is probably fractured, in which case it's unlikely that you can repair it.
Plenty of replacement remote control suppliers to be found.
