when i hold shift and the at sign the sign doesnt come on for my email does anyone know how to fix it

Your keyboard layout is probabaly for USA not UK, if you have a EN symbol on the bottom right of the screen click it, and set it to English. if not, goto start/control panel,regional language options,
go in there set it all to UK
