what do i need to do to fix my dvd player?

i had this jvc vcr/dvd combow for a while and the dvd quit but the vcr still works the dvd reads the disk then says no disk but i put it in what should i look for

thank u that worked when i cleand the dvd player it began to work it now plays like newso now i will clean it every other day
