Vickie,
Forgot to say before running a Trojan/Virus busting programme you must -
Right click "My Computer" icon on the desktop (top left)
Then select "Properties"
Select "System Restore"
Check the box halfway down to "turn off system restore"
This will stop the system restore putting back the Trojan/Virus when you switch it back on again.
When the system is clean you can repeat this to turn on the system monitoring.
Sorry about forgetting that!
Good Luck!

Hi Vickie,
The only thing that got rid of the Trojan StartPage.1 was from www.NoAdware.net it will cost you $35 but if it dosn't work then they will give you your money back. I'm sure it will work for you and your problems.
But with no credit card start with downloading some free software and try that first eventually building up to some you have to pay for.
On my system I have Antivir, Spybot Search and Destroy, Diamond CS TDS3, Spyware Blaster and NoAdware.
All available through Google, most were free downloads others were ($8) and ($35). All have their own strengths and weaknesses.
All the sites I have listed are trustworthy so no worries about saying yes. Dont bother with Norton it does not work very well and says the system is free when it is still infected.
To download a programme is easy just find where it says download and pick on it then a window will pop up and you pick "save", choose where you want to save it (BUT NOT DRIVE 'C' WHERE THE TROJAN WILL PROBABLY BE) then just follow the prompts. They all give you an icon to pick on to run.
Good luck!

Install and run "Ad-Aware SE" its free and it works.
Install and run "Spywareblaster" its also free and works.
Then install XP-Antispy to keep them away (XP only).
I have 6 different types i use as i find they all differ slightly in what they find.
also make sure you update you operating system to latest cuts by going to Microsoft update page or your contol panel and click automatic updates.
