No sound through audio outputs on my VCR?

I have a Philips VCR.
Model #: VR620CAT21

This is a Hi-Fi deck that is used for concert playback through my stereo system. I have audio on the TV from the VCR but I can't any audio at all from audio output jacks to my stereo. I have tried another VCR hooked up to my stereo and it plays through the stereo so this problem has been narrowed down to the VCR itself. The only wierd thing that's happened that may have contributed the problem is that a tape casing broke inside the machine. I took the hood off and got all the pieces back to super glue them to the VHS tape casing. Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty handy with tools.

your VCR may have S simulcast switch on it which turns of the internal source of stereo audio and uses an external source. If the issue is that you can't get audio off a Tape itself, you may have damaged heads form when the tape was jammed. Does your machine have an RF/Audio meter on the front, it should tell you if this is the case.
