Clicking door lock, Zanussi FLE 1416W?

After cleaning the pump filter on my Zanussi FLE 1416W the machine is refusing to start. The orange power light is lighting up when switched on and the door light is lighting up, a few seconds later the door lock starts to click rapidly and the machine starts to blip. I can select the wash programs but the green start light just flash's and when pressed the lock again clicks and the machine blips. Its very annoying because I know cleaning the filter has nothing to do with whats happening, It must be just unlucky coincidence? Is it? does anybody have any idea whats going on? before I stick it in the back of the car and take it to the tip! lol, thanks all.

Hi Phil,
You seem like a man who knows more about these machines than myself, is there some sort of reset sequence that you have to use when the machine has been unplugged?. Sounds a silly question I know but today the machine decided to start working after, and in my frustration I switched the machine off at the mains several times and then with the mains switched on jabbed! several of the buttons!!, it then clicked as it should do and started ! dam thing!. if it was a control board fault wouldn't it just do the same thing every time?, that is not work?

carl this problem is usually a fault on the front panel control board(expensive)if you any where near leeds ill buy it off you

Thanks mike, I did buy a new interlock more in hope than thinking to would fix it! and it didnt Doh!. I had the circuit board out and under the magnifying glass to see if I could spot something obvious but didnt find anything. I checked and tested the wiring as well but didnt find any brakes in it. this is a really strange one, and highly annoying !!

I had the same fault with my fle1416w. I replaced the door switch but that did not cure it.

I took the printed circuit board out and completly resoldered all the joints. It has worked perfectly since then, 8 months ago.

Hope this helps.

Mike
