I've just done that for my Servis Millenium washing machine's door handle. Getting the outer skin off was easier than I thought, and replacing the catch is ease! Just have a good look at the old one before you remove it and keep it nearby for reference!

steve take the door off,take all the screws off that hold the two halves together pull the door outer skin away from the inner and away you go
