Kenwood A701A gearbox grease?

How do I replace the grease in the gearbox?

It appears, that the grease has turned to oil, and run out over the felt pad.

I suppose your problem is that the mashine is leaking into the bowl while not in use...? I have exactly the same problem, but didn't found any solution.

Iv'e opened the gearbox and as slim says above it's about 1/4 of a pint of jelly like grease in there... Found that strange since it's leaking oil..

Can it be that the grease is old and need to be replaced? Found the original kenwood gearbox grease on http://spares2go.co.uk for only £13 ;-)

IF the gearbox is the same as the 701, then there should be a grease plug under the gearbox. You need to remove the large plastic trim underneath which goes around the carrousel, this is held by several phillips screws. Pull off the plastic knob at beneath the front of the mixer. The large plastic trim should now drop down, this has a piece of felt to catch grease and 20 years of grott. Here should be a penny size screw head. Undo and insert lubricant of choice. At your own risk of course!

Are you sure all the grease has leaked out - there is about 1/4 of a pint in there
