why wont my pilot light stay on?

I have a baxi bermuda and my pilot light wont stay on, every time i release the button it goes out. On one occasion it stayed on but when i turned the heating on it only lasted 2-3 mins and went back out? i now cannot get the pilot light to stay on atall. can anyone help me please?

thanks for that bert/paul. i have had the heating on since and it lasted around ten mins, could this still be the thermocouple? ifso how much do you reckon it would be, fixed? once again thanks

I suspect thermocouple needs replacing.An easy diy job, but can be a bit fiddley to get at the thermocouple fixings without removing the burner tray (which should only be done by a qualified (CORGI) person as it involves separating gas pipe unions.)
A new thermocouple should be less than £10 so if it fixes it, it cheaper than calling out an engineer..... and if it doesn't........ well it was worth a try.
