Why doesn't my Matsui MAT120MR work after formatting?

I formatted my Matsui MAT 120MR MP3 player, put music on and when I turned on to listen, the light came on and then went straight off again turning the whole thing off. That's all it will do now.
Can anybody help?

Not sure what the reason is, but my first one did exactly the same. Got a replacement and the new one will stay on, but won't play through the car stereo (which is why I bought it). I feel a refund coming on ...
