indesit WD84T program switch?

Hello,

My indesit WD84T drying and washing machine has the following problem:
the program switch is just turning round and round, and a washing takes many hours to finish.
It starts the crazy rotation when pumping out the water.
I called the service, they came and installed a new water pump, but it didn't help.
I'm getting fed up with them, they want me to pay a fortune to them to take the machine to their workshop and test it for days, and somehow I have the feeling that they want to fool me, so decided to mend it myself.
Have you any idea what the problem might be?
(I work with electrical circuits and equipment, just simpy haven't tried to mend a washing machine so far.)

Thanks for any idea and help in advance!

the program thing, spinning endlessly. It seems to work your tip of resetting the machine, i just switched it off, selected a dot position then "on" down till it flashed and now its turning and stable program button. Thanks man

Scrap it!

It is probably the system board, which is the fault (on the back of the machine, where all the wires are connected)
Mine is same age, same usage, but in my case the motor is not turning to wash, although it is turning properly for spinning.

I agree, good machine, but unfortunately not built to last or to be repaired

HI there
I am not sure where you are located.. but i have a very similar problem with the program switch which keeps turning.. in my WD 84

The service centre people came, and told me that the problem was with a system reset.

I am trying this solution which they say will fix it, but it has not yet done so.. it may just work in your case.

switch off the mains power
rotate the knob to one of the . (DOT) selections
then switch on the mains power keeping the machine's power knob pressed in till you see the LED on it flashing.

This is supposed to reset the machine.

now you can put the machine back to your program and restart it.. and it should hopefully work.

I have been doing this off and on for the last 4 weeks with limited success
Sometimes it works soemtimes it does not ..

i dont know whats wrong..

The machine is close to 5 years old.. and it does a load every alternate day.. and has not given one problem till this surfaced in the last 4 weeks.

so i am satisfied with it.. but as things stand right now.. i am not..

Hope this helps..
