potterton housewarmer 55 bbu;intermittantly sounds like jet engine?

potterton housewarmer 55 bbu,when central heating on and working fine,intermittantly seems to become turbo charged and sounds like a jet engine ,as if it is being supplied with aload of fuel all at once;then goes back to normal,;goes back and forth like this;any ideas thank

Change the Gas Valve it did it for mine they are available on the internet, if it comes with a spare jet with a small hole in the side fit that in, it is a soft start jet and works a treat

the burner has a two stage valve ,so it can light slowley 1st stage is 2mbr then second stage full burner , your problem is your 1st stage is too high and is burning threw throat off the burner ,adjust gas valve or renew gas valve
