mercedes cd changer linked to merc audio 30 radio cassette player shows a no cd message even though the cassette is full. no sound etc ...

Try disconnecting the cd changer for one minute.
Turn on the head unit (radio) until it powers up i.e plays music turn it off, now reconnect the cd changer and turn back on head unit wait until it plays music from radio and then select cd. This should re boot the system prompting it to find your cd changer hope this helps
