How can I image my main harddisk to an external drive?

I want to be able to save an image of my computer's main harddisk on to an external USB drive. How can I do this?

You can use PowerQuest's Drive Image 7. This software is new and seems brilliant. You can restore selected files from the main image! You don't have to restore the whole image file just to restore a few files.

You can use Norton Ghost 2003 to do this. It will make image files on external drives.
