my refridgerator is freezing everything!?

I have an older Kenmore refridgerator that is freezing everything in it, even on the lowest setting for temp. This fridge is an over under basic style with ice maker and is probably 6 years old. What could this be? A thermostat? Help! Thank you, -frozen in Nebraska!
