hi iv tried to connect my xbox to our hd tv but have no sound?

hi can anyone give me some advice.i v just connected my xbox 360 to my hd television at first i was having a problem getting a picture but i had sound, now i have a great picture but no sound,has anyone one else had this problem and is it soveble
