is there a way i can open the door in order to fix the broken latch

many thanks Andrew just repaired it. I will add also ->
After you unlock the door (see Andrews post) undo 5 screws that are on the top of the door on the inside. Mentioned screws hold control panel on the outside. Than unscrew whole locking mechanism (4 screws) inside the panel and pull out smallest plastic pin.
If we don't count plastic pieces that are broken, you should have 5 parts in your hand: plastic pin, a spring, the handle and plastic part of the mechanism.
The problem is that 2 small pieces on the handle are broken and can no longer pull the mechanism in order to unlock the door. I used hot glue in order to attach the handle back on the mechanism. Works for now.
Assemble in opposite order.

I followed Gordon's advice on how to get to the door latch on a Ariston Dishwasher model LS 603. The instructions worked perfectly.

I have an Ariston LS609 which had this problem. The problem was the catch was broken inside the control panel. Pull the dishwasher out, unplug it. Look on the back of the top panel and there are 2 screws. Undo these then slide the top towards the front of the dishwasher and it will lift off. In the middle front top there is a small plastic arm with one nut, undo this then the door will open. Then ascertain if you need a new latch mechanism. My dishwasher is about 10 years old, so I didn't want to waste money on it, so I repaired it with some longer screws which could cut deeper into the plastic panel.
