How can I remove air from my heating system?

I have a gravity feed heating system which has recently had an extra radiator fitted to it. Now I have warm water flow to the radiator inlet tap but no heat into the radiator itself. I have bleed radiator at the bleed off valve only cold water is released (no air). How can I make these radiators warm? This problem only occurs down stairs.

shut all hot rads at one end, leaving cold rads open, turn heating up to full it will push air lock out, then when they are hot open the other rads 1/4 of a turn at a time, see how hot they get, keep doing this until they are all even temp. your system does need to be balanced properly , but to much to explain on here check it out on the web plenty of sites that run through it.
