Erased firmware--need to install new version?

I needed to upgrade the firmware for my creative zen micro to play an audio book from audible.com. I followed their instructions which said erase the firmware and then connect the usb cable and update the firmware. Now that i don't have firmware on the player i can't connect to my laptop to install the new version. My laptop is a toshiba satellite with windows xp home.

thanks for the feed back. I've tried to download the firmware from the creative site but i can't connect to my pc to load it on and when i connect to the usb cable i can't get to the menu screen on the player. I just understand why they give you the option to erase the firmware on the player when it can't be reinstalled afterward. Makes no sense.

Actually you are not supposed to erase the firmware, the upgrade does this. HAve you tried the emergency Repair menu. I know that there is a setting to reload the firmware, but I do not know if it will work in this case. (remove the battery, hold the switch to on, then replace the battery. The repair menu will come up)
