philips 27" acting up?

our television takes longer than usual to turn on and when it does the top or the bottom streches out and has a red/green color shift. it'll stay on for a couple of seconds and then turn off by itself. whats wrong with it and how do we fix it?

It's July now, so you have probably already decided what to do with the TV. I have found answers at http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/electronics/msg0422572015185.html Evidently this model had design flaws. My TV is doing the same thing. I hear repair estimates are high, so plan to give a home repair a try since I'm not going to pay more than I did for the set 2 years ago to have someone fix it.

Possibly poor regulation of the supply voltage to the frame output ic., you'll need to call a TV engineer.
