myson apollo pilot lights but goes out when gas button is released?

I have just had gas meter replaced when engineer left i could not relight boiler ,pilot lights when gas button pressed in but goes out when immediately released,any answers would be appreciated,don't like cold washes

Also Are you holding knob in for 30 secs after pilot lights?

Engineer should have relit your boiler for you. Possibly your thermocouple has failed
