Is our washer dryer ready for the skip ?

Hi,
Have inherited this machine. Washes well on all programmes.
Appears to dry OK too, however, the red lights flickers on and off
throughout, and it has shorted the electrics a couple of times. Can she be saved ?

Depending on how old this machine is there maybe a simple answer as to the fact it sometimes blows the electrics. It also depends on how heavy the load is at the time. I am not too familiar with this type of machine but i have always found usually it is the brushes inside the motor which causes this problem. Check these brushes if the machine is very old i would suggest you replace them. The more the load the harder it is to turn the motor if you have brushes which are in need of replacement the motor is going to struggle to turn this will cause the motor to get hot and the safety trip device will trip the machine. If you have and RCD in your consumer unit at home this will be tripped almost similar to that when a bulb blows. Sorry i cannot offer further advice without seeing the machine.
