when i turn the mp3 player on it will not come on it will say that the file system is corrupted and it will not cooperate

The model from Lyra by RCA`MC4204-A`
On downloading a torrent off limewire the mp3 stoped working later on in the day. The screen was on `initializing` and could not go any further. Restarting did not help. Deleting the file through the computer did not help. Nothing helped and there are no fascilities available for fixing the device.

You ROCK Kelly!! Altough windows didn't like to format it for me, so i used the good old DOS command;
c:\format f: /u
the f: drive was my mp3 drive. It took about an hour like you said. But when DOS said it was formatted RAW, it was good to go. I upgraded its firmware right away via;

Ok, this is a pain in the a$$ but here we go....open up the my computer icon on your pc desktop. When you plug in your mp3 player press and hold the front 2 buttons while pressing the power button. When it says connecting on the front of the mp3 player a new icon on your pc screen will pop up that says something about removeable storage, right click on that icon and click on Format. You have to be quick and it may take a couple hours of trying, but it works, I have done this many times!
