we have tried to set up the miokmi AM216 thearter system up and on the back of my dvd player there is only 2 portholes and we need six so i cut of the red and white ends and tried to twist the white ends together and same with red it did not work we now know why but we need three signal cables3pc to go from the sub woofer1pc to the dvd player now.
so we also need to know how do we get three white and red in to only two port holes is there a way such as dose a splitter exsist for the signals cables3pc!!?

This won't work.
You can't connect the stereo output pair to the 5.1 channel inputs of your surround system, as the output requires decoding first. You can connect those left(white)/right(red) outputs of the DVD to the front left and front right inputs of your surround for stereo amplification only.

(If there is a digital optical or coaxial output on your DVD and corresponding input on your surround system them you should connect that instead.)

Yes, you can get splitters for phono or jack connectors.

BTW, I used to work in hifi and the saddest cases were those people who bought an expensive rig and nuked it a few days later (or mabe even the same day) for the sake of a ten-cent plug, by stickytaping the leads. Usually cut them with the power on, too, and wondered why the amp was giving out a burning smell all the time they were twisting them up.
