I plug in my headphones..barely any sound?

When I plug headphones into the jack the sound is almost non-existent unless I move the plug around and hold it. Tried different headphones thinking maybe a short in the cord but no such luck. Is there a way to make the connection tighter so that i can receive more sound? I have a Creative Micro.

"Creative Zen Micro Headphone Jack Fix"
The site contains instructions for disassembly and locating the fractured solderpoint, which causes your problem. You´ll need to know how to solder though.

this sounds like a short in the player, not in the headphone connection. if there is any connection, it usually transmits signal at full volume
