Yes, it should be compatible with DVD+R & DVD-R.
You can record until the disc is full but you cannot reuse a DVD-R or DVD+R (DVD-RW or DVD+RW for re-recordable discs).
PS. Manufacturers will say their machines will play or record such or such disc 'depending on recording conditions'.
Which basically means if you use cheap quality bulk discs don't expect them to work reliably. Always use good quality discs.
