No picture on Bush IDLCD27TV006?

My standby button is flashing and I cannot get the TV on.
Have changed the batteries in the remote but made no difference.
Have turned the set off completely but when I turn it on again it is in standby mode still with red light flashing.
Watch it through freeview box.

Hi for anyone requiring the power repair kit, this is the cheapest I have found. It is on ebay and he has 2 left at present. I advise you to check the standby transformer first (primary should read 4 ohms) then check C330 before you spend your money. This kit is only for the failed 5 volt supply, which seems to be a common failure. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290453739001&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

My other question still holds about the flashing standby LED. I have now replaced C330, can anyone describe the start up procedure for these sets as it's the first one I've had. I tested it last night and left it on all night, it is still on today.

John, August 2010
can anyone tell me? I have the equivalent Medion model of this set, purchased cheaply as it was not working. I replaced a capacitor which was domed on top, the capacitor was not C330 though, it was a 47uF 50v near the standby transformer. After doing that the set now works, but when I switch it on first the LED flashes red about 4 times, then goes green, then red again this time about 12 flashes, then it comes on. Is this normal or is my C330 bad?

John, August 2010
I have a photo of the TV insides with the position of the blown capacitor highlighted. E-mail me for a copy Jenks.
The e-mail address (it won't let me actually write it out) is a hotmail one with the prefix amyrbunce.

Amy, May 2010
can some one tell me were to find c330 been looking for hours now and still no luck or can someone post the psu drawings highlighting c330
regards

jenks, May 2010
Having never attempted a TV repair, im going to give it ago as i have the same issue as the rest of you, i have located the C330 on the right hand side of the PSU under a black box of wires, its a big one you cant really miss it.

Hope that helps the few of you that cant find it

We supply the repair kit for this set. Developed from information supplied when these sets were under warranty we design all kinds of repair kits for LCD and Plasma tv and they have become industry standard.
Some pointers with this board:
If you have 5v then there’s a very, very good chance that fitting our repair kit WILL NOT WORK, the kit is to fix the 5v line.
C330 is in our repair kit, it is there for reliability as often the sets will fail after a blown supply is repaired. It can sort certain faults on its own.
As mentioned before, if tr20 does not read around 4 ohms, then it needs replacing with a working one. Currently we are the only firm that sells this transformer however it can in some cases be repaired however in most cases it will need to be re-wound.
Although there is a repair kit and spares for this board, unless you are a suitable qualified engineer you should not fit or attempt to repair this board. There are several reasons for this, safety being the most important but this board can be quite difficult to solder to. The track can lift when to much heat is applied. We do a repair service to this board but it is always better to have an engineer look at the set for you. Mr Maurice is an example of an engineer who would be able to fix these boards even if its more of a complicated fault.

If you want the repair to last DO NOT use Maplin order code VH51. This is a general purpose 85°C capacitor which is not suited for this application.

You need a 105°C low ESR capacitor.

One of the best you can get in the UK is from Radio Spares (RS) http://uk.rs-online.com/web/ They sell the Panasonic FM range. You need stock code 526-1446. You have to order a minimum of 5, and then add on the postage, but it's worth it for a quality component.

You may find it's slightly wider than the one that's already fitted, but there should still be enough room to fit it.

C330 is under the heatsink with a hole in it to access R324.

Can someone please tell me where i would find the C330? Im really Struggling! Thank you

YOJO, February 2010
I fitted this part. C330 capacitor today purchased from Maplin and it worked. Thanks

My c330 seems fine as far as I can tell.. I can't see any components that appear faulty on the PSU. Any other ideas anyone?

Colin in Southampton, December 2009
I bought a vh51 bit and put it in place where old one was,and the tv worked again at a cost of 77p excellent thanks guys

I found my Bush at a Bottle Bank; had a look at the PSU board carefully, and guess what?
THEN I came across this Blog!!! LOL
Something else to look out for is a very fine wire which goes all the way from the HT generator board to the other side of the Screen which gets cut under the shielding.

Mr Clarke, August 2009
Fantastic, had one of these in my cupboard for ages from a friend of a family member i got a while ago. When looking up on ebay i found replacement PSU for around £45. Was eventually going to get one to see if i could get it working, found this page and decided to have a look and indeed it had blown!

Did my first bit of real soldering today and replaced the capacitor on the PSU and i now have a working TV set, VERY happy!

I got the part from Maplin (i work there so i had a good idea of what to look through in the catalogue before i went down to get it)

Order Code: VH51. Price £0.72. 1000uf 35 volt but that is not a problem. Most stores should have these in. They are a little larger than the one that comes out but still fits the space quite well and the long legs that bend easily help pull it through under the heatsink from the back of the board. Remember which way it goes back and your laughing.

oh, one last tip, make sure all the cables are back as they came out and for any that may have been knocked out, I managed to put it all back together and left one out, was a pain taking it all apart again to find it and clip it back in!

Adam D, July 2009
I had the same problem, it was the capacitor as-well. Thanks all who posted solutions on this site.

Ian, March 2009
I've got the same problem so can someone highlight where I'll find the c330 part on the board? Some of you are saying it's hard to find. Is it clearly marked? I don't want to take of the wrong bit :-)

Just want to add my Thanks to all who took the bother to put these comments online. MY model went off on Christmas day..... wife wanted to take it to the dump but i didnt have the cash to replace it. So coming online I found this thread. Today I had the C330 replaced...33p plus £10..00 for a electrician to solder it onto card. And tonite I'm again watching my TV!! I just wonder how many people have been ripped off by unscrupulous sparks or how many sets are in landfill because of such problems not being properly highlighted! Thank you!

Paul McIlroy, January 2009
Thanks for the tip guys. I had exactly the same problem with the flashing LED and no picture. I replaced C330 with a 1000uF 25V 105C capacitor from Maplin Electronics at a cost of 36p and hey presto - job done!!!

I have the LCD27TV006HD which I purchased from Tesco. Two months out of the warranty it stopped working and just the led switch would flash.I took this issue up with the trading stds who told me that under UK law the goods have to be fit for purpose. Initially Tesco didn't want to know until I quoted the sales of goods act 1979 to their head office, they eventually compensated me with over half the cost of what I originally paid for the set.I kept the set and had it repaired but six months later it has broke down with the same symptoms.Anyone know the best fix to stop it breaking down as quick in the future.

Adrian, December 2008
Does anyone know of a modification to these Bush PSU's .

I have repaired a few now and some still pack up with the same faulty component after a few months.
These were repaired with higher voltage and higher temp C's and still failed

Surely there must be a proper mod that can be done as opposed to just putting components back in

F302 1.5a CAN CAUSE THE STANDBY LIGHT FLASHING FAULT , IT IS A SMALL CHIP FUSE ON THE BACK OF THE BOARD,

if you need to replace transformer t20 (as I do)you can get it re-wound over at andyselectronicstuff,
http://www.andyselectronicstuff.co.uk/power_supply_board_repair_service.html

Capacitor 330 is a 1000 microfarad at 25volts, just make sure its rated at 105 degree and not 85. Maplin electronics should have some.

Wayne Jukes, September 2008
you can buy the capacitor from RS (rswww.com) but in order to get the right one you need to know capacitance, voltage and lead pitch - does anyone know this information so I can buy the correct part?

Thanks

Well done Terry.Spot on. My sons TV went dead yesterday just read your reply and replaced C330 capacitor and hey presto FIXED..Yes your were right the top was bubbled and split. Thanks again

Anybody know where I buy TR20 (standby transformer) for IDLCD27TV006 or 1154, 1157 For use with Power Board Type 04TA069I & 05TA071B, 05TA071C
matt
info@pcrevive.co.uk

Matt, April 2008
One common failure is the 5V standby supply, fitting just the repair kit is not the answer, you need to check the associated transformer (TR20) the primary should read about 4 ohm or about 4mH if you have a LCR meter.... if this is s/c its liable to blow the new components or if its o/c it's simply not gonna' work.

David Smith, March 2008
my son also purchased the repair kit and it didnt work!! I have traced the fault to part number c330. This is a capicitor on the power board. It can easily be spotted as the top will be domed (blown) all the others will be flat in appearance. This capicitor can be purchased for 25p (GB). worth trying before you spend £15 on a repair kit that you may not need

terry, January 2008
I have just fitted the modification kit from Ohm and must be one of the 1% that it doesn't fix. Any ideas where to look next as I still have a flashing standby light?

Graham, January 2008
I am a TV engineer and havefixed a few of these. The fault is on the power supply board. If you are in the the North London, North West London, Herts, or Middlesex area I can repair these, my name is Michael Maurice and my phone numbers are 020 8908 1518 or 07973 530130

Michael Maurice, December 2007
There is a power supply repair kit for what i belive is the cause of this problem,it costs £15.00 and cures 99% of problems with this tv,the kit can be purchaced from ohm suppies, google search it and then click on repair kits.
MY bush IDLCD27TV006 went the same way, purchaced this kit and 2 days later i am now enjoying it once again.

leigh priddle, November 2007
exactly the same problem just out of warranty cant be repaired surely there is something we can do? its disgraceful .

Ive been in touch with bush who at 1st said they would
replace the set but now say they wont ...

colin colinsplace@hotmail.com, November 2007
I have the exact same problem and have had two tv engineers look at it today - both diagnosed that the motherboard has failed - a big and expensive repair job on a tv which is only 6 weeks out of guarantee. I am gutted and will never buy Bush again.
