How do I undo my Singer foot pedal?

Singer Machine No. 507. I think I have short circuited my foot pedal but I am unable to get inside it to check. There is one screw but it does not undo the pedal. The pedal part no is 103435-009. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, and yes the other screw is hidden under the rubber at the base of the peddle, i was lucky looks like it was trapped fluff and nothing was burnt out.

there is a second screw under the pedal rubber

If you are undoing the screw on the foot control of which there is only one and it is not unscrewing, it was a ver common fault for the screw to turn inside the plastic case and not undo, if you unscrew it slowly and gently prise apart the top and bottom you will find it will undo, you will need to glue the control back together.

There should be 2 pins, one each side of the foot, you should be able to unscrew these and slide the pins out, if not then your foot control should have a label stuck on the underside, rip the label off and there should be a screw to undo and the control will open, common thing on foot controls is the suppressor going wrong so undo it and discard it, pull the plug out first.
