Is there a particular kind of coffee for perculators?

I love perked coffee but my results are inconsistent. Sometimes it perks longer than other times resulting in stronger or weaker coffee. After a vinegar run through, my pot works better but only for a short time. Am I using the wrong kind of coffee? I have a general electric perc but I have used other pots with the same problem but these pots are quite old.

Hi Diane,

The main thing is to make sure your coffee is ground properly. It should be a very course grind - large granules. Hope that helps!
