My coby dvd says no disk when i put in any dvd in my collection of about 40 dvds and my buddy has the same dvd player as me and his works perfectly and so it is probably internaly because my cords on the outside are hooked up alike. I have also talked to a couple mechanics but two will only fix it for 40 dollars and one doesnt know do you know how to fix my problem anyone?

no disc after loading or cant read your cd/dvd
You open the player, then take off the dvd ribbon wire(color white)from the socket then replace it with a new one....(NOTE)be sure you unplug first the power supply cord from the outlet before you open the player...for your safety

You may buy it the dvd ribbon wire at electronic shop store...

my coby was doing the same thing and then when i would turn it on the green light would fade a little. it did this for a week and then it just died!

My Haier portable DVD player was doing the same thing. It had only been used one time. I pressed down on the disc when I inserted it and voila, it worked. Just have to do that every time, though.
