Rio Karma problem?

I've had a Rio Karma for about a year, and its doing some wierd ass stuff now. All of a sudden about 3/4 of the songs on the player whenever i tried to play came up with a "skipping bad track" error, and eventually i got to the point where it was turning itself off after a few seconds of being on, and then it turned itself back on after that, and had a cycle of turning on and off. I fixed this by formatting it, but now i can't hold any more than a few songs, up to 11 depending on the file size. During a transfer it would have an "Unspecified Error" message for every single song i tried to get on past the limit that it had(im not sure what the limit actually is). I've tried putting on new firmware, uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, but the same thing always happens.

its possible that its just a 300 dollar paperwieght by now, but try to help me out!!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
After changed my appartment to another I can't find my DC Adapter anymore.
My question is: How much Volt and mA the adapter has, so I can connect it with another one.
