I have a motor control fault with a Hoover WS130 w/m?

The motor is attempting to go into "spin cylcle" no matter what position the programme selector is in (even if put into tumble dry mode it will try to spin; specifically it will try to run full speed spin but will reach a limit where it then slows before attempting to run up to full speed again; it will try this 3 or 4 times and then it stops... as far as I am aware the motor will then not be activated throughout the rest of the programme.
